Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe – There’s More to Yogurt Than Breakfast!

Whenever you think of yogurt, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Most people assume that yogurt is specifically for breakfast, but I’m here to tell you that that is definitely not the case. Yogurt can be used for so much more, like snacks at camp, snacks at the beach or the pool, snacks for a summer road trip, and even an after dinner treat. I wanted to create a recipe that was not only nutritious but delicious for my picky darling daughter, and I did just that with this strawberry banana smoothie!

After dinner, the last thing I want to do is make more of a mess by making extravagant desserts. This strawberry banana smoothie was so quick and easy to make, and all I needed was a blender and a glass to put the smoothie in.

 Bella is a huge yogurt lover, so when I let her pick out which variety of Yoplait Yogurt she’d like, she immediately chose the original strawberry flavor. She was really excited about making strawberry banana smoothies (well, she calls them milkshakes). Even though I only used strawberries and bananas, this is a clever way to add in vegetables that your child wouldn’t eat otherwise. While I was at the store, I should have grabbed a bag of spinach to dump into the blender, and she wouldn’t have even known! I’ll have to remember that for the next time because there will definitely be a next time.

These smoothies are absolutely scrumptious for when we sit inside of our carport and watch the sun set. It’s 100+ degrees in southwest Tennessee, and these smoothies keep us cool and hydrated, all while providing our taste buds and tummies a yummy treat!

I bought these glass milkshake jars that came with a lid and a plastic straw a few months ago, and I finally was able to make use out of them. After I prepared the smoothies, Bella became very impatient. All she wanted to do was test out the strawberry banana smoothies and to give her honest opinion. Since she is a picky eater, like I noted earlier, I was worried that she wouldn’t enjoy it, but my worries were put to rest when she let out a loud “YUMMMM!!” while still guzzling down the smoothie.

She actually insisted on drinking the other jar, which was supposed to be mine!

This strawberry banana smoothie gets two thumbs up from my picky eating 5-year old!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 1 cup Yoplait Yogurt
  3. 1 cup fresh strawberries
  4. 1 medium banana
Instructions
  1. Pour 1 cup milk and 1 cup Yoplait yogurt into the blender.
  2. Cut up strawberries and banana. Then place in blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.
  4. Enjoy!
